DH's family owned store that has been in business since 1923 has been divided into individual stores and we have just purchased the stationery part of the business....it's a bit over 2300 sq. ft. and is comprised of high and middle-end stationery, semi-custom invitations and personalized stationery, stamps, seals, fine and everyday pens and markers, office products and paper, childrens' educational books, toys and teaching aids, a bit of gourmet food, coffee and related serving items and are introducing upscale home and office decor.

DH (Scott) has been raised in a retail family....this store has been passed down from his grandfather. He knows just about every facet of retail, plus he can do all of the "grunt" work....electrical, telephones, computers and carpentry. He and his siblings were taught early how to make (cheap) repairs.
My background is finance....I have 25 years in mortgage banking and only stumbled into retail 12 years ago, when I met Scott. It's been fascinating learning how to apply what I know to this business.

Besides his retail experience, Scott's a great designer and we've already made some exciting changes to the interior of our poor, neglected, 60's era-looking store. I enjoy decorating so this store will really put my knowledge to the test. Ugly Lozier gondolas beware.....I'm updating you as soon as I'm able!

At the present time, we're open from 8:30 am to 7:30 pm. We plan to change that to 9:30 am to 6:30 pm., but are still debating. We have 5 employees at present, not including Scott and I. Revenue average seems to be about $1300.00 per day lately, which is depressed due to my father-in-law's reluctance to communicate with the public about why we became separate stores.
